Coffee, Coffee, Coffee

Sitting here on Saturday Evening at my favorite coffee shop today and I really can't think of anything intellectual and though provoking. This coffee shop has been my favorite since I got to Santa Monicaand I would recommend it to anyone who is in the area. It is 3 blocks from the beach on Broadway and it is called the "Interactive Cafe". It is GREAT it opens at 6 am and is open until 1 or 2 am, depending on the day of the week. The cafe serves everything from organic fruits and snacks to sandwiches and hot meals. It's a simple little place and has enough outlets to plug anything you want in and if you forgot your laptop there are plenty of "pay as you go" pc's. Plus the girl Zoe at the counter is absolutely adorable. 2 thumbs up!!!

Now that I am finished my selfless plug I am just gonna tell you all a little bit about what I have been doing. Last night I was hangin' on the beach listening to a GREAT band that has been playing right on the beach. The guys are awesome! They gave me a cd, but I forgot the name of the band already. Stupid me!! Anyhow they draw a great crowd and everyone dances and just goes wild, it was a blast. I haven't been drinking in a while and I have to be honest but I drank my fair share of Bacardi, and Cokes.

This morning I woke up with the sun and I helped a friend of mine move into a new place. It was great. Paid to workout, can't go wrong with that. I finished working about 10:30 am and decided it was time to go to thrift stores. I mentioned in an earlier blog that I was trying to by as few products I can from big department stores and I am sticking to that. Plus I am starting to EBAY again so I am searching for more places to shop. I found a WONDERFUL store called "Bible Tabernacle Thrift Store" where all of the proceeds go to a homeless shelter and it was GREAT. They had a room full of clothes that you get to sift through and fill a brown paper sack for $3. AWESOME!! I purchased a bunch of stuff from big brand names like Armani, and Bannana Republic all for $3 TOTAL!! I also found a couple of pewter plates which I have listed on EBAY. Wish me luck.

Well, I have a lot of work to do today, but it is my goal to make sure I keep blogging so that is what I can do. Please visit me periodically on EBAY. Maybe there will be something you would like to buy. Also, if there is anything that you would like from California that you can only get here, send me a request, I will buy it and put it on there for you! Just click EBAY here and it will take you directly to my page EBAY Please consider making a purchase from me if there is something you can use. It would help me in what I am trying to do TREMENDOUSLY! It's almost charity....REALLY!! If I don't live the way that I do, you don't have a blog to read. Or at least not mine.

Also, I would like to let you all know, if you don't know already that if you click most words on my blog that are PROPER nouns they will take you directly to the site the words pertain to. This is something new that I am doing. Please click, click, click my links, it makes search engines find my blog easier.

One last thing.

I didn't get the spot on the game show. Oh well...thats show biz!!

On to Saturday night~!!

******check my blog daily!

Quarter 'til 7 in Southern California

It's quarter 'til 7 in Souther California and I am sitting in my favorite coffee shop...my office. The sun has been shining since I came down here from Santa Cruz and no matter how difficult things can be at times, even if things don't always go the way I want them to, I am grateful to be here! I would like to thank everyone who read my blog the traffic is going THROUGH THE ROOF!!!!!! People from all over are finding me...>LEAVE ME COMMENTS!!! Also, I have a cousin that has found my blog and has been leaving comments. Please email me with your phone number, I lost it and I would love to talk to you!!

Now I try not do do politics to much here on my blog, but things that are happening lately are leaving me bothered. I know the political process is a grueling battle which involves negative ads etc. but I really think that the Mccain campaign is showing it's age and I REALLY feel that they are out of touch.

This morning the Mccain camp released a negative ad in 11 battleground states about Barrack Obama. This ad shows Obama in clips with Britney Spears and Paris Hilton likening him to a shallow celebrity and a child who is uncapable of running our nation. How ridiculous. It is a fact that Barrack Obama may have a higher I.Q. than any Presidential contender in a long, long time and this ad really, really makes Mccain look desperate at an early part of the race. The Republicans are cutting their own throats. Here's the ad.

How absurd is this ad? Do the Republicans really have the balls to say that Obama is FOR foreign oil because he opposes offshore drilling for enviromental reasons? Last time I checked it was the Republicans who were in bed with Big Oil! Maybe I'm wrong....no I'm not. Big oil is a Bush thing.

I am really proud of how Barrack has handled negativity in his campaign. It is really difficult to run a political race in ANY branch of govermnment withought slandering your oppononent. Amazingly, so far, Obama has been able to do that. Here is the Obama camps response.

Now I have voted both Democrat and Republican. There is a need for checks and balances and sometimes you have to pick the other for balance, but I do feel that Republicans have had power for too long. Look at their desperate attempts to maintain power and it IS about power.

Our country was set up for the PEOPLE to have the power and that was the original purpose of the Republican Party, small government, low taxes etc. Look at the power that the Executive Branch has been given under Republican Rule. Yes, I said RULE, it has gone that far.

The only way as Americans we can handle all of this is, like Rage Against the Machine Said "we've got to take the power back". We still have time. Both politcal parties are corrupt, but we the people still have a chance to take control of this nation. We can do that by coming together in our communities, getting involved in our local govenments, starting our OWN politcal parties and becoming more independent. The powers that be want us to be dependent, brainwashed and stupid. I encourage everyone to do what you can to become less dependent on the electric company (use solar, windmills you can sell that power), shop locally and purchase goods created in your town, go locally organic in food. Believe that our airwaves are controlled (clear channel owns how much of radio?) Become a vigilante, exercise your rights!! And don't let ANY ONE person/people have to much control of your fate for too long, or at all.

Now I am not the most briliant person in the world, but all of this makes sense to me. Thats why we have the right to bear arms, if things get out of control we are not only authorized, but OBLIGATED to take control of our nation. I have said before that I would leave this country if things went to far, but MORE and MORE I get pissed about the process and the struggle for power. If things go to far, maybe I will exercise my rights a little more...and maybe you should too!!

Vote, make a change and remember, a revolution starts with only a few!!

God Bless America.

EARTHQUAKE in L.A.!

Picture Courtesy of RICH LOOMS L.A. TIMES

So after writing the Blog entry today about not worrying and relaxing your mind I was sitting outside of the Santa Monica Library talking to a friend and felt the cement wall underneath me moving. My buddy looked at me and was like "Do you feel that, this is weird". I then stood up and watched and felt the cement wall move and the ground beneath me. "Concrete does not move" I stated. "This is an earthquake". No sooner did I notice that people were freaking out everywhere around me.

The quake measured 5.8 on the rictor scale. It wasn't scary, in fact, I found it to be kind of fun. I kinda had a desire to feel another one. However, our quake was felt all the way from L.A. to San Diego. What an interesting start to the day. Talk about a wake up call! Statistics say that the chance of a huge quake hitting this area in the next 30 years is about 99%. So today we are counting our blessings.

After the quake I decided "hell I'm gonna focus on what makes me the most happy" So I went to North Hollywood for an open casting call for a TV game show I knew nothing about. It turned out the game show was one that I watched as a child, "Millionaire Password". The TV show is on CBS and the host is REGIS. Well, today I acted naturally and took the little test and half of the crowd was cut. I got all 5 right. After that, I got my picture taken and was one of the first called into the room with the Producers. My partner was a wonderful older lady named Edith. Guess what guys. I KILLED it. Totally aced it. It was a practice of the Final round. I had 30 seconds to give her 5 words and then vice versa. I made the final cut.

As we speak I am being pitched to the main people from CBS and filming begins on Saturday - Monday. Please, Please, Please keep your fingers crossed for me. I could use the extra dough, ANYTHING even if it is not a million. All I can say is that in my previous blog I told everyone I was going to let go and just go with it today and "let's see what happens". Well, right afterwards there was an Earthquake and then I most likely landed a spot on Primetime TV. WOW.

all of the credit for that stuff goes to YOU KNOW WHO!!

One Love~~

Tryng Too Hard

I have a lot to do today and as some of you know I have been stressing out a little. A good friend of mine sent me an email today that stated that I was "trying too hard" and to "just let it go". How true that is. It seems that when we ride through life, worry free, things just seem to run a lot smoothly in all areas. Lately I have been staying in a nicer place and have a few more bills and the stress of keeping in all has gotten in the way of me "enjoying" what I am doing. And I LOVE what I am doing.

Today I have a jam packed day full of errands to do and all of the things that I have planned (or most of them) are fun and exciting things. I know, that if I go about my day in the frame of mind that I have been the last few days I will be so focused on running around and getting everything accomplished that I won't be enjoying a single thing that I do and the tasks that I undertake will not be completed effectively. In life we seem to take a few steps forward and then we leap backwards. I know these principles and they absolutely work for me. So why do I need to be reminded by my friends. Thank GOD for like minded friends. Thanks Thea!

So today I am trying to be on a game show. The show is worth a million bucks (which ones aren't these days) and I KNOW that I am going to be dealing with long lines and I am really grateful that I get the chance to go into this with a positive frame of mind. I am at the Library now, so I think I will pick up a book. I also plan on finally getting to my agents office in Hollywood. It's funny. I have tried for days to get to this place and every day something comes up, I get lost, my phone dies etc. Let's hope that today I finally get this thing accomplished.

Regardless, I still feel lucky to be living the life that I live, even though for a couple of days I felt a little whiny and worn out. I am not going to spend the entire day today focused on the things that I don't have and I am going to do my best to enjoy the moments that I am in. We can't force things in life. Life is going to give us what we need when we need it and I can truly attest to that. However, if we try to hard to make things happen in our own time, we are only cutting of the magical energy that is God which makes things happen the way we might desire. We can be our own best friend or our own worst enemy.

I would encourage everyone who reads this blog to just take today and take all your worries and throw them out the window. Let it go. If you are losing your home to for closure, go to the beach and get OUT of that place and forget it for a day. If you need a job, take a rest, go to a coffee shop and just relax and then tell me what your day has produced for you. Leave it all in God's hands and let's see what happens.

I do have one last comment. There are emails going around the Internet about Barrack Obama making a statement which said "We are no longer a Christian nation, we are a nation of Christians, Muslims, Jews and Budhists" (or something to that effect). Some people are outraged by this statement and feel that our forfathers intention was that we are a Christian nation. Even though I dearly love some of the people who take offense to this statement, I MUST comment on this.

Our great nation was started by people who were escaping a nation that was dominated by The Church of England. These people came to America in search of a place where they could freely worship in the manner of their choice and not in a system that was focused on a central religion imposed by the government. These people developed a system for us in which our government can NEVER impose one religion on us and that is what has made us one of the most free and diverse nations in this world. There was a time when almost everyone in the U.S. WAS of Christian faith and also of similar race. The fact of the matter is, the U.S. is incredibly diverse now and while we may as individuals want the majority of people to believe the same things which we do, this is not what happens here. Our system was designed for us to have choice and that is how we have grown to be so diverse.

I do not believe that just because we are not all Cristians that we are doomed God. On the contrary I am proud of a tolerance that we show as a majority in this nation, to ALL religions. I think God probably likes that a lot as well. God shows himself to each individual in different ways and in his time and it is not our duty to impose our religious views or judge people wrong for seeing things a different way. Our walk with God is one that is not shown by man, but by God in His own way and His own time.

I am proud of this statement by Mr. Obama, it shows tolerance. In order to become unified, we must accept that there are a lot of people who are different and a lot of people who have moved to our country from another and just do not believe some of the same things that we do, but when it comes down to it, those same people have the same basic morals that we all seek shelter, safety, non-violence, love etc. We cannot look down on ourselves for our tolerance. Jesus said "Love they neighbor as thy self" and "of all these, the greatest is Love", "do not judge, lest ye be judged". Let's try and focus on our own personal relationship with God and how WE got there and not worry about how others get there. Everyone gets the opportunity to hear from God and how people pray has nothing to do with how our economy runs or how our government takes care of us, however, how we treat each other and how accepting and tolerant of each other does define how well we live together in America and how well we live together in this VERY diverse world.

God Bless America

I'm Drained

While I am usually so positive, I am just out of gas today. Things were going really well and remarkably smoothly for a while and now all of a sudden I am hitting roadblocks everywhere I turn. I am trying so hard to remain positive, but I have been stomping the streets trying to make things go and things are remaining at a standstill. Last week I applied for and received a Mastercard and I can't activate it because I can not put minutes on my phone, someone wants to kill me over 20 bucks and every effort I make to do honest work is falling through. I am just blown away by how things are the last couple of days. I guess I should just stop and wait and see what happens. I think that I am pushing myself too hard. Gotta have faith I guess, but right now it is really hard. Maybe it is because I haven't been writing enough, or maybe I am just not supposed to be doing the type of jobs that I am trying to do. Right now I just don't get it. Oh well, it is just a minor funk. Things can't go this way for too long, I know that, but as positive a person that I am I still have a down day or two. I would love to hear from friends. I could use the encouragement. I don't ask for much these days...just a kind word or two. It is unfortunate and totally my fault that I can't turn to my family right now and I am just a little weary, and a tad bit afraid. This too shall pass.
