BE PREPARED!!

Justice Robert H. Jackson
"It is not the function of the government to keep the citizen from falling into error; it is the function of the citizen to keep the government from falling into error."

While I supported Obama throughout this election, it was more of me voting AGAINST the same. I am fully preparing myself for the possibility that the machine has gone too far and I am beginning to exercise my rights as an American and my duty to protect YOU, ME and our freedoms for years to come. Today my topic is Militias.

While the media has portrayed militias to be extremists and lunatics, more and more militias are becoming active and organized, focusing on the original intent of our forefathers when drafting our Constitution.

If you don't know what a militia is, I will tell you.

A Militia is simply this: An Army of normal citizens INDEPENDENT of GOVERNMENT

In our constitution we as Americans were given the right to bear arms, each individual state was given the right to form its own little Military comprised of citizens in order to prevent tyranny in the Government and protect our Constitution in the event our Government fails to protect our Liberties.

"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the
security of a free State, the right of the people
to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed." <--- THE BILL of RIGHTS SECOND AMENDMENT

"The strongest reason for the people to retain the
right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort,
to protect against tyranny in government." <------ THOMAS JEFFERSON

". . . as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government." <-----THOMAS JEFFERSON

"The people are masters of both Congress and
courts, not to overthrow the Constitution,
but to overthrow the men who pervert it!" <------Abraham Lincoln

You see, our country was set up as a bunch of little States, which in effect were to be a bunch of individual little countries, United as one by common beliefs and values protecting our individual freedoms. Our forefathers did a lot of things to protect us from every being controlled by our Government and one of them was giving us the right to bear arms and protect ourselves from tyranny.

Here is what the Websters Dictionary has to say about Tyranny:
1: oppressive power ; especially : oppressive power exerted by government
2 a: a government in which absolute power is vested in a single ruler ; especially : one characteristic of an ancient Greek city-state b: the office, authority, and administration of a tyrant
3: a rigorous condition imposed by some outside agency or force

Our system was designed specifically with this in mind. Our forefathers KNEW that there was a chance that the Government could get too big and too powerful because that is exactly what they were fighting for when establishing our Liberty from England.

That is also why we have SEPARATION of CHURCH and STATE.

Our Government has argued that Militia's are what is considered THE NATIONAL GUARD, but this is far from true because our national guard is controlled by our Government.

"The powers not delegated to the United States
by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States,
are reserved to the States
respectively, or to the people." <----Article X in the BILL of Rights

"The militia is a voluntary force not associated or
under the control of the States except when
called out; [when called into actual service] a
permanent or long standing force would
be entirely different in make-up and call." <----Alexander Hamilton, Federalist Papers

"The President, and government, will only control
the militia when a part of them is in the actual
service of the federal government, else, they are
independent and not under the command of the
president or the government. The states would
control the militia, only when called out into the
service of the state, and then the governor would
be commander in chief where enumerated
in the respective state constitution." < Alexander Hamilton, Federalist Papers

It makes NO SENSE for the Militia to be The National Guard, or any other National Organization, because then a militia would be under the control of the GOVERNMENT. Ask yourself this "Would a government overthrow themselves?"

While in the past militias have stockpiled weapons and been labeled enemies of the government, a TRUE militia is a friend of the Government and a defender on the Government as long as our Government is protecting the rights Guaranteed to us by our Constitution. Militias are just as American and Partiotic in their pure form or even more as our U.S. Army, Navy, Marines, Police, Fire Dept.

A MILITIA is just INDEPENDENT of GOVERNMENT and controlled by the people.

The more and more Militia's become enemies of the government, the more you have to be afraid of your government. They are supposed to stand for the same things.

Our system is built with checks and balances. We have Congress, The Courts and The Executive Branch of government so that everyone has a voice and no branch is supposed to be more powerful than the other. The Bush Administration and others in the past have given more power to the Executive Branch of Government. One example of this abuse is The Patriot Act which gives more power to ONE man than any other Branch of Government destroying that balance.

At this time each state is only represented by 2 Senators, regardless of population and those Senators are 2 people who are supposed to represent every person in that State.

Ask yourself this: "Can an old white dude and a middle aged lady represent YOU? Do you feel you have anything in common with them and that they represent YOUR views and ideals?" If you were to call them on the phone, would you even get them on the phone?

And now look at what Bush did strengthening the Executive Branch. He took balance out of the equation even more, giving YOU less of a voice in the name of protection and then waged a war on Iraq, against the will of the World.

Kinda scary that our Government is able to do all this.

We are one step closer to Tyranny...and THAT my friends is what we were given the right to form militias for. We were given the Right in our Constitution to protect us from the machine getting too big.

Whats even worse, is the size of Government right now. Right now, we feel like we have a voice. We were so proud to see the first Black President put into office, because we finally feel like we have a voice.

One problem,
this President no matter how good or bad his intentions are, will be forced to make our Government even larger, totally ignoring the LIBERTY that the Democratic Party is supposed to stand for.

Our system is FULL of political parties, HOWEVER we only hear about 2.

2
again we only have 2 choices.

The system was not built this way, but money and media have prevented any other party from entering any contest effectively...thus making both parties more and more alike and controlled by the wealthy.
The only difference is a few social issues, i.e. abortion, poverty, healthcare. I am afriad these issues are just used as smoke and mirrors in order to make us feel like we have a choice, when really the government is going to stay on the same agenda.

Kinda scary huh?

Check out this list I compiled from Historyguy.com and tell me if you had the chance to see any of these parties represented in the Debates during the Presidential Election

Third Parties
The so-called Third Parties in the American political landscape usually sit in the shadow of the dominant Democratic and Republican parties. In the past, certain third parties have influenced presidential elections, typically by helping split vital votes from one of the larger parties. Here are links to some of America's current smaller political parties.

Communist Party U.S. --"We are a Marxist-Leninist working-class party that unites Black, Brown and white, men and women, youth and seniors. We are a Party that speaks out from a working-class point of view on every vital issue. The People's Weekly World is our voice and the voice of labor, of all militant movements for social progress. We are a party of unity in action. We are an integral part of every struggle and movement for change to eliminate poverty and joblessness, against racism and for full equality. We are participants, initiators and leaders of every movement to make life better now and much better in a socialist future." *Philosophical statement is from the Communist Party Website. *

The Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) --"We are socialists because we reject an international economic order sustained by private profit, alienated labor, race and gender discrimination, environmental destruction, and brutality and violence in defense of the status quo.

We are socialists because we share a vision of a humane international social order based both on democratic planning and market mechanisms to achieve equitable distribution of resources, meaningful work, a healthy environment, sustainable growth, gender and racial equality, and non-oppressive relationships." *Philosophical statement is from the Democratic Socialists of America Website. *

Green Party-- "The Greens/Green Party USA is part of the worldwide movement that promotes ecological wisdom, social justice, grassroots democracy and non-violence." *Descriptive statement is from the Green Party Website. *

Libertarian Party --"The Libertarian way is a logically consistent approach to politics based on the moral principle of self-ownership. Each individual has the right to control his or her own body, action, speech, and property. Government's only role is to help individuals defend themselves from force and fraud." *Philosophical statement is from the Libertarian Website. *

Natural Law Party--"The Natural Law Party stands for prevention-oriented government, conflict-free politics, and proven solutions designed to bring national life into harmony with natural law." *Philosophical statement is from the Natural Law Party Website. *

The New Party--"The New Party believes that the social, economic, and political progress of the United States requires a democratic revolution in America -- the return of power to the people. Our basic purpose -- reflected both in our own governance and in our aspirations for the nation -- is to make that revolution happen. At present, in America, the people do not rule. And they must, if we and our children are to lead lives of dignity, decency, and fulfillment." *Philosophical statement is from the New Party Website. *

Reform Party --" We, the members of the Reform Party, commit ourselves to political system. Together we will work to re-establish trust in our government by electing ethical officials, dedicated to fiscal responsibility and political accountability."*Mission statement is from the Reform Party Website. *

Socialist Party --"The Socialist Party strives to establish a radical democracy that places people's lives under their own control -- a non-racist, classless, feminist, socialist society in which people cooperate at work, at home, and in the community." *Philosophical statement is from the Socialist Party Website. *

The U.S. Taxpayers Party-- "The U.S. Taxpayers Party stands firmly on the principles of government laid down by our Founding Fathers in the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution. Unlike other political organizations, we do not believe these principles are outdated. Our government has become a problem because these principles are ignored not followed. We need to return to a government that protects all innocent life; a government that protects liberty, not suppresses it; and a government that allows the free pursuance of happiness, not regulation of it. In the spirit of the Declaration of Independence it is time to remove power from that 'faraway' government in Washington, D.C. and return it to the states and local communities. " *Philosophical statement is from the U.S. Taxpayers Party Website. *

Funny Huh????

Why, in a government that is FOR THE PEOPLE, were we not able to see these people who represent us, represented.

My fear is that it is because we are only 1 choice away from Tyranny and that our power is almost gone. That is why I am writing this in defense of a Militias.

While I support our government and choose to have a positive outlook on life, frankly, because it keeps me happy, I have to remember that we have rights to freedom and to Liberty and I will not relinquish those rights. This is MY country, this is OUR land, not a select group of elitists. BE PREPARED and EXERCISE YOUR RIGHTS!!! Help more political parties get a voice, this gives you a voice and don't be afraid to exercise your voice.

"THINK FOR YOURSELF AND QUESTION AUTHORITY"

and as a last resort, FIGHT!

RECENTLY I HAVE BECOME AWARE OF THE IMPORTANCE OF MILITIA'S IN OUR COUNTRY AND I HAVE DECIDED THAT WHILE SOME ARE RADICAL, IT IS MY DUTY TO MY NATION TO PREPARE MY SELF FOR A POTENTIAL REVOLUTION AND THAT'S WHAT I WILL DO.

BE INFORMED!!

"You have rights antecedent to all earthly governments: rights that cannot be repealed or restrained by human laws; rights derived from the Great Legislator of the universe" John Adams
"
Individual liberty is individual power, and as the power of a community is a mass compounded of individual powers, the nation which enjoys the most freedom must necessarily be in proportion to its numbers the most powerful nation" John Adams

"Under every government the [last] resort of the people, is an appeal to the sword; whether to defend themselves against the open attacks of a foreign enemy, or to check the insidious encroachments of domestic foes. Whenever a people ... entrust the defence of their country to a regular, standing army, composed of mercenaries, the power of that country will remain under the direction of the most wealthy citizens.

Cockrum v. State, quotes about Militia:
The right of a citizen to bear arms, in lawful defense of himself or the State, is absolute. He does not derive it from the State government. It is one of the high powers delegated directly to the citizen, and is excepted out of the general powers of government. A law cannot be passed to infringe upon or impair it, because it is above the law, and independent of the lawmaking power."

...The purpose of the 2nd Amendment is to guarantee the existence of state military forces that can serve as a counterweight to a standing federal army. Thus, it seems fair to say, the scope of any rights enjoyed by the states under the 2nd Amendment would be determined by the goal of preserving an independent military force not under direct federal control." Turning the Page

About 2 years ago I embarked on the adventure of adventures. I had been recently divorced and decided to go soul searching and that’s what I did. I went through the loss of a dear loved one and I reconnected with old friends across the country. I rode trains and busses, I hitchhiked and I flew and I saw much of what this great nation has to offer. I fed the homeless and I was also fed. I lived off of the land and I was also able to live lavishly. I traveled with musicians and sat with poets. I was on tv, and I was the onlooker.
Throughout my adventures I was able to learn a lot about myself. I learned that wherever it is that I am, I AM, and I am the one who is ultimately my companion. I was able to see what is like to have nothing and to make something out of nothing. I learned that there is a God and that he is one who is kind, one who is everything and I can trust him.

Recently I was able to see history once again as did all of you. I am gracious to have been a part of electing the first African American President into office and while things may appear to be horrible to most everyone right now, because of my adventure, I am able to see things through different eyes and be optimistic towards my future, our future.

I choose to look at things differently now days. I choose to be thankful for my family, for my little town. I choose to be gracious for each and every day of life and while tomorrow is not promised, I have accepted the fact that MY today is perfect in every way and only I can control that.

I have decided to accept things the way they are right now, no matter what that they are and in that I have chosen to bring this adventure to a close.

While I may be traveling more, it is part of me, I am shutting the door on the past and moving on to bigger and better things. I am settled now and at peace and am happy to be in the simple place that I am. It took a lot to get here.

With that I am going to end the “Tilly’s Now Hiring” blog. It will remain online for us all to read and it will serve as a reminder to me of the things that I have been through and a map to the things that are to come. I will eventually be starting a new blog that is a little more focused. One that reflects on more of a defined topic and is less about ME. I have found me and no longer have a desire to explain myself to the world. I do however want to continue to share the principles that I have discovered, the things that have brought me to contentment with all of you. I am very thankful to have you in my life.

With that I will bring this chapter of my life to a close. NOW is different for me and I must evolve and grow and that means becoming a bit more systematic about the way that I do things. I have been talking a lot about writing a book and have started a few, but I think I just might study a little bit more on the process. It’s been a long time since college.

I aim to settle in my new apartment, which is a beautiful 2 bedroom loft from the turn of the century and try to draw from the history that seeps out of the brick walls and wood ceilings and floors. I have achieved contentment and as my brother would say “I have found my HEF” ( I will talk about that more later ) Anyhow I would like to thank you all for reading my blog regularly and for those who would like to hear more, it will come…it will just be different!

One Love and God Bless
