Da Dodgers!!

Today started out to be such a hum drum day. I was discouraged and a bit pissed off. My phone is off again, and when my phone is off, I miss out on jobs. Since I had auditioned and applied for a great deal of jobs this week I was bitter. I was bitter because when my phone goes off it is not my fault. It is because people like to send me text messages and sometimes I am near my limit and a text or 2 throws me over and shuts my phone off. When this happens, I can no longer use my voicemail. So I started my day pissed off, but let it go, like I have learned to do and today turned out to be a GREAT DAY!

After relaxing at the spa in 24 hour Fitness I realized "hey, there isn't much I can do today so lets just relax" and I went to the library for my usual email check. Upon checking my email I saw that I had an email from the L.A. Dodgers. Apparently at one point I had applied to sell peanuts and popcorn and such at L.A. games. Well, they need me to work the Playoffs!

Since baseball is my favorite sport and most of the players who I like on the Dodgers used to play for MY team the Red Sox, I am so stoked. I had been down a bit because I am used to tending bar and making that type of money, but I am trying to stay away from that scene as much as I can and this works out to be a great compromise.

While I will always be a Red Sox fan and come World Series time I will be routing for them (they WILL make it). I feel blessed to be able to make a couple of hundred dollars a day and be at the National League Playoffs and if the Dodgers keep winning, the World Series. WOW!!!

Mindset is everything...had I stayed glum and pissed off and looked for every reason why I should be upset all day, blamed people and complained about poor me to my friends, I am convinced none of this would have happend.

I remember when my friend Patience told me a long time ago that sometimes when there is nothing happening and no apparent way out the coolest things happen and that is proving true in my life!!

APOLOGY

I would like to apologize for my negative attitude in the last blog entry. Usually I try to be positive and uplifting, however I could not find anything positive and uplifting to say about current events yesterday and maybe I should have just left my blog blank. It frustrates me to see what we as a people, (or some of us) are doing to each other and to our country and I was a bit too vocal.

As for me, things are ok...life is a rollercoaster ride on which I am not holding on...

more to come.

Going, Going....Gone!!!

So it seems like all of the gains that our country made economically during the Clinton administration, the last little bit, is being flushed down the toilet today as we speak. George Bush's last attempt to save it was voted down today and although it is going to cost us, it is probably a good thing. Had that law passed, we would be one step closer to Socialism and I do not know if that is a good thing either. It is one thing to have Socialized medicine and quite another to have our banks owned by the government. What are we going to do?

There is good chance that things just get worse and worse for a while and while I am prepared for it a little, I don't think most people are. We are already waiting in lines for gas in the Southeast and our homeless population is looking to get bigger and bigger, whether it is by storm or by forclosures and how exactly are we supposed to sell more homes when even our BANKS cannot get loans?

Is it the end of the world??

I doubt it, I just think we are starting to realize that we actually have to WORK for our money. You can't just take loans out all of the time and buy things with money that doesn't exist, mortgage those things and save the debt for generations to come. Sooner or later that kind of stuff is going to catch up to you!! How can you sell something that you truly don't own to people who truly don't have money and expect to make anything. Its not the best idea I have ever heard of. Our system built on borrow, borrow, borrow is finally tumbiling and all of the people who followed those ideals are tumbling along with it!

See you at the bottom!!
