This week my last living Grandmother passed. As time moves on and I get older I am reflecting on my life and looking back at all of the memories from my childhood. Every once in a while we should realize how we take life for granted and how short it really is. It seems like yesterday that me and my cousins were pulling presents out of a giant stocking on christmas day and fighting over who would sit in my "Pep's" big recliner to watch the Thanksgiving parade. It's times like these that I appreciate my family and the memories and scoldings that were given to me, for without them, I would'nt be me. It makes me think about the stupid things in life that allow us to be distant with the people who we care about most and makes me want to draw the people who I care about closer, because they will not always be there. Friends come and go, but your family is always your family and when "shit goes down" they always seem to come through.
Cherish the ones that you love, it is never too late to draw close to them.
To my family, I love you all. No matter how far apart we are, we will always be linked by blood and a little piece of you is in me and I, in you.
R.I.P. Theresa Dutilly, Leo Dutilly, Clair Lacroix, Donald Lacroix, Bob Miller and Nadejda Rocuant.
You will all be missed and live on in all of our lives.
