Lead By Example

More and more I am noticing that in life we as people (myself included) try and pass our ideas and values onto others and it appears forced. It seems that we KNOW things or have discovered things in our own lives spiritually or intellectually and they have helped us SO much that we feel inspired to share those things with the world, or at least with the people closest to us. It happens in all aspects of life and I am realising that we really need to be careful in what we do and pay attention as to whether or not those people WANT us to share our wisdom.

Whats good for ME may not be good for YOU and VICE VERSA. Everyone is different.

We need to stop assuming that everyone is searching for what WE as individuals have FOUND. People in all walks of life seek out many different ideals, values and adventures and I have come to see that it may not always be a good idea to impose my views on others. While I may KNOW that what I believe or have learned may help another, I have to respect that that person may need to find their way on their own and THEIR route may be completely different then my own.

So many religions, clubs and philosophies through they ages have gone out of their way to shove their ideals in other peoples faces. There has been wars and there are door to door outreaches, there are people in foreign lands and people that provide goods to the poor all in the name of Religion and most of them require that the people who they are helping hear their messages.

To me that is just cheating.

We should not give good deeds in return for forced ideals. We should not kill in order to have the opportunity to educate. People naturally seek out the philosophy that they crave and eventually they will have the chance to hear what you believe and then it is time to share with them.

We should just give good deeds naturally as an example of our genuine faith.

I really don't know why I am saying this today, except for that it applies in so many areas of my own life. So often I try to teach younger people who I care greatly things that they are just not asking to be taught. Sometimes they find my ideas completely wacky and it creates a rift between us. I am learning with age that the best thing that I can do is be the best ME that I can and however I turn out promotes my values better than me running my mouth.

PEOPLE don't like to hear other people talk about their selves too much. Most people will ask you if they see strength in an area that they feel is lacking in themselves.

And that's what I have to say today.

ONE LOVE
