Today I Ripped My Nut Sack

I figured this was a worthwhile story. So here I am again, I'ma tell it. Recently I came back to my momma's little town in Georgia and rented a SICK loft. That's how I always refer to it, as SICK, cuz it would be....if it was in, say, CALI! But, either way...its a cool spot. What else would you expect? Anyhow, I have been talkin' with my little brother about things he is going through and about life and I have been trying to convince him, in the midst of his turmoil, that life kick ass and he shouldn't worry. That his biggest problem is his own mind.

Today,
I proved it.

There is NOOOOOO work here. Even when the economy is good, this is small town Georgia...most of the factories and mills are gone. There is not much industry....ESPECIALLY not this close to Florida.

Well, I have been telling him....no need to stress, no need to worry, FOCUS ON THE MOMENT enjoy yourself and DO YOUR BEST and tomorrow, will take care of itself. I tossed him a few books and prolly WAY TOO MANY WORDS and then told him to watch.

We waited,

I told him....don't worry....things will fall outta the sky....

and BAMMMMMMM!

It happened.

No jobs, no business, no industry.....RIGHT?

The other day someone informed TIM that these first 3 weeks of December were the last 3 weeks of PECAN season. Now, we are YANKEES...(ewww can't believe I said that, technically we are Yankees...but WE NEW ENGLAND all the WAY, onions and all)

Anyhow,
MR. TIM found out that for the next 3 weeks, all over Georgia, in parks and fields, by churches EVERYWHERE....there are PECANS all over the ground. Pecans you say, COOL, who gives a shit. Well, these NUTS bring 1.30 a lb....and nuts are heavy (ha,ha)....today we went all over the place looking for these trees and they are everywhere. He can make $400 a day gathering nuts. You wouldn't believe the nut jokes....unless you know us of course....there were nut jokes all day. In a town where $7 an hour is good and there are no jobs, without trying, by not worrying, he found the way. He was like "there are nickels falling from the sky".

Manna from Heaven? ? ?

Don't worry about your troubles....turn your TV off...forget the economy and remember the things that REALLY matter this Christmas...and enjoy yourself!! To be alive is the greatest gift.

Everything else is provided.

Have A Little Faith

Thinking Outside the Box

Over and over in my blog I have talked about being in the NOW and living in the moment. I have blogged through some wild times over this year, but I have always come back to the same thing and when the going got tough, my blogs reminded me to keep in the moment and I'm grateful for that.

When it come to life, I haven't been the perfect person. I have done some really dumb things, but over time I always strived to be a better person. Now, with age I am noticing that a lot of that stuff was all how my mind was programmed. As I focus more on the moment things have gotten easier, I have become more positive and I have realized how blessed I am in every situation. I have been really lucky...just to have made it this far and now I am starting to bear fruits. Things sometimes seem downright magical and I have a blast!

This best part of me seeing the fruits of my labor is that the people around me see it too! People who have known me all of my life, family members and friends have come to me and asked me "what is it that you are doing". Now, I am wiser than I was in the past and it brings me great joy to be able to share with them how simple it is to not be ruled by your mind and how powerful a human is when the mind is working for them and not against them.

Over and over we are tormented in our minds by, really, the information we are giving it. Our mind only knows what we tell it and if we think bad thoughts our mind recognizes those thoughts to be real events and for so many people that starts the whirlwind downward! I have chosen to be happy to succeed and to do what I love thats what I tell my mind and thats what happens.

More and more I am finding other people who think the same ways that I do. I am lucky to run into people and catch those "extra breaks" and I get to have so much fun. I meet the greatest people and I am starting to notice that the relationships I forge with them are more genuine, open and honest and thats what makes it all worth while.

With so much bullshit in the world all in all I like to think life is good. I enjoy seeing the world become a better place (and I can back it with facts) and I am optimistic about the future. Why not? thats all we got.

I guess the goal is just to be the best person that I can be. In this thing called life we are moving forward at faster speeds than ever before and I am really beginning to enjoy the struggle to be a better man. I'm evolving and thats rad.

I hope that in some way, any way I can help other people see things the way that I see them...even if they find them in their own ways, to think outside the box.

Life is really what you make it!

Shoot for the stars!

What Works For Me

Ok, I said I was not going to be writing on this blog anymore, but the more I have abstained, the more I realize that I need to blog....its therapeutic. I could care less who reads it and I have no real agenda here...it just helps me.

Which brings me to yesterday. Yesterday I got really drunk, which in itself is not all that bad, but I did it for the wrong reasons. Personal and family problems have been a little rough (I will spare you the details) and I had reached my boiling point. I flipped out on some people from whom I had been withholding my opinions and I was probably hurtful, but that's what I did. Recently, I have become sort of unsympathetic to other people's problems. I spent years and years being unhappy and on my last adventure, I feel that I found the true meaning of happiness and I get extremely frustrated when other people don't get it. I also get pissed off when people are close to me and maintain an unhappy attitude, for whatever reason, its contagious and I am not down with that.

Anyhow, I have several friends right now who are not happy and there are even MORE people all around the world who carry this same burden with them. Just yesterday a man from town blew his brains out in his back yard, he was a doctor, Life seems hard.

With the economy taking a dive, foreclosures and joblessness at the highest it has been in my lifetime, I understand. But I also know the secret, and it wasn't easy for me to find out.

Before I could figure out the secret to true happiness, I had to go on the craziest adventure ever. I had to hop trains and hitchhike, I had to be hungry and feed the hungry, I had to share and give and mainly, I had to TRUST GOD. Now, the word GOD scares a lot of people, but however you look at it, there is a reason we are here and we are all part of the same body, science proves it everything proves that we are all made up of the same stuff. That my friends, is GOD. God is not some magic man in the sky who shoots lightening bolts at you for punishment. He is not someone who gives you gifts if you praise him and ignores you if you don't. God is simply this EVERYTHING THAT IS. Once I realized this, I became thankful, once I became thankful, I became HAPPY. Once I became HAPPY I began to share and that changed my life.

Recently I strayed from what had made me HAPPY. I became comfortable with the blessings in my life and I also became pissed off at some of the painful things that were going on in the world around me. I found myself becoming ungrateful and in some ways, disconnected with the ONE thing that had given me so much joy. I can't say I was feeling sorry for myself, I just began seeing things through the wrong lens and while doing so, I was also ineffectively trying to teach the amazing things that I have learned. I briefly gave up on everything and in a way disposed of what I had attained, all while trying to pass the torch to some people who are close to me. It didn't work. Regretfully, I had to push people away in order to have this epiphany which really is all to familiar.

I did so much to get to this place and I am now realizing that the best thing that I can do is be an example to the people who I feel I can help (which sometimes feels like EVERYONE)

Now I am not super enlightened, I have WAY to many faults, but I have found the secret to TRUE happiness. That secret may be different in some ways for you, but in the center of it all is LOVE, KINDNESS, and FORGIVENESS, all things which represent GOD in EVERY religion. I guess sometimes people pay too much attention to rules and order and less to what GOD is.

I promise everyone, but mostly, MYSELF that I will do everything that I can in life to share the joy that I have received, but I can't give my joy to anyone. I just can't...it doesn't work that way. I can share this:

With what seems like the world going to hell in a hand basket, with all the war and loss and failures of the people who make the world turn. Try this....Sit all by yourself and be silent. Look at what you have THIS MOMENT, whether its a backpack full of clothes and a dog or a mansion on a hill...LOOK, see your family, see your friends....or FRIEND and be grateful. You can find bad things in everything on earth, but you can also find GOOD in everything, because GOD is in everything and GOD is GOOD.
