Writing For a Magazine

I love life. I especially love my life, how I live it and the opportunites that come my way when I am choosing what it is that I want to do. Just when I thought that I was going to be miserable and almost began doing things for the wrong reasons, I turned the car around and even though I was feeling pain, I accepted the pain and held my head high. I got on my feet and headed where I needed to be and since I arrived here it has been amazing. I am doing the things that I love. I am writing.

Right now I am working on an article for a music magazine. It is perfect and I am in the perfect place to be doing it. Now, I always write, thats just me, but it is rare that I get to use the whole creative process, the one I learned sytematically in school and college and then applied my own style to. I always did VERY well when I applied mechanics to the creative process and used a formula. I write every day, but most of the time it comes right out of my head and into the journal or blog. Good practice, but I LOVE the creative process. There is a system to it and you can have a lot of fun during the brainstorming period...especially whe you are writing about something you have been involved with or love doing.

I have chosen to write about my buddy Patience. I have written about Patience before, we have had a ton of fun together in both New Orleans and in Santa Cruz. Patience has played with some VERY famous people and at some NOTABLE and FAMOUS places over the U.S. and he has been on stage at JAZZ FEST. He has a CD coming out like right now and I know people from places that he has filled...its perfect and he is one of my best friends. I am so confident that I am going to be able to write this article from a journalists perspective and make it look GREAT with great quotes from important people and in doing what I love, I will be also helping to lift the people around me who are also doing what they love. I am lucky, I am in a place where I know aa lot of people doing that and it inspires me and will also inspire and help them. THATS AWESOME.

The best part of this whole opportunity is that I am right near San Fransisco where some of my favorite authors and journalists, some of the BEST are and have been. If I can land a job for one little place here I will be able to land more and more and study under the best there is. All the while doing one of the things that I love around great people who I love. I'm diggin it. I am inspired and pumped. I really enjoy the creative process and the brainstorming part....well I am pretty EXTREME during that part. I find it to be VERY fun and I GET CRAZY! I am in the perfect place,

Right now I am in a house on top of the mountains, with a couple of GREAT people. I have a deck to sit out on with no people around and a veiw of valleys and the ocean. I have all of the time in the world and most of the people I have to interview are ten minutes from me (i will do a couple out of state over the phone). I have an office to work in, a room to do research and some of the most beautiful nature and great friends to inspire me. I just know that I am gonna make it happen! I am so very grateful for the friends who I have around me who believe in me believe in themselves and support me so greatly when it comes do doing the things that I love! Thanks guys!!

I couldn't ask for things to be better RIGHT NOW in this MOMENT.

I will be very busy over the next 3 days going through the creative process and managing interviews etc. and on day 4 I do my drafts. The creative process is all of the work. You would not believe how much writing you have to do before you even start a draft A LOT and then you have to manage your interviews in on time so that you don't get stuck while you are brainstorming. I have some wonderful writers who read my blog and who may have some tips for me that from their experiences. PLEASE feel free...I encourage you to contact me and give me advice.

This is the real deal guys and it is AMAZING and I feel very blessed in everything around me.
